The beginning of the space race set the tone for the birth of new space devices such as satellites, rockets, telescopes, probes, space rovers, and new missions and experiments that involve different applications of technology. Currently, various applications of daily use depend on technologies specifically developed for outer space: like satellites, these technologies were initially considered space technology, now they support human work on the ground.
Ms. Estefania is an accomplished Electronic Engineer with a master's degree in Development and Comprehensive Project Management. She served as the President of the Aerospace & Electronic Systems Society (AESS-IEEE) Professional Chapter from 2019 to 2021. Currently, she lectures in the master's program in Aerospace Engineering at San Buenaventura University and the Julio Garavito Colombian School of Engineering. Her expertise includes serving as an Analog Astronaut at the Polish Aerospace Training Center and being a former fellow of the Japan Global Space Consortium. She has also been involved in a space mission utilizing a HeptaSat satellite. Her career includes roles at the Directorate of Science, Technology, and Innovation and the Graduate School of the Colombian Air Force. Ms. Estefania has contributed to numerous research projects in collaboration with the IEEE, UNISEC and the Colombian Air Force. Her excellence has been recognized with several awards, including the "Women of Success Colombia 2020" award in Science and Technology, the Best Young Professional IEEE 2019 award and the Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 award by the JULIO GARAVITO prize. Additionally, she is the inventor of the "Genius Pamper" and has been recognized as a Young Promise by COLPARMEX, where she was also awarded the International Galileo Chair. Her dedication to advancing technology and innovation in aerospace engineering and her extensive experience make her a leading figure in her field.
